We elect a Student Council every September with 4 representatives for each year group. Meetings, chaired by HOD Mrs Burns, take place at least once per term to deal with issues students raise about different aspects of school life.
Year 11 pupils visit the NI Assembly in March as part of their GCSE LLW study of local democracy and political life in NI
Year 12 pupils can join language and careers students in October at the ‘Opportunity Europe Fair’ in Belfast (organised by our French Department) where pupils explore career and volunteering opportunities abroad.
We offer a variety of workshops throughout the year which complement the topics being studied.
Some of our GCSE pupils this year took part in a project called ‘CROWS ON THE WIRE’ funded by the EU’s Peace III Programme and supported by the Community Relations Council/Pobal Consortium,exploring issues relating to the transition of the RUC to the PSNI, through drama and discussion
