Queen’s University visit St Joseph’s

St Joseph’s were thrilled on Friday to be hosting Dr Veronique Altglas from the School of Sociology, Social Policy and Social Work at Queen’s University Belfast. Teens get into enterprise

Year 9 pupils at St Joseph’s were working with local charity Young Enterprise developing skills for a future in business. Taking part in the ‘Explore Enterprise’ programme, the students explored creative thinking, team working and problem-solving in a practical session held by the charity.  The charity works with young people of all ages and abilities to encourage entrepreneurial qualities at a young ... Year 8 get down to business

Year 8 pupils at St Joseph’s were introduced to their new school as they took part in the ‘Your School Your Business’ programme with local charity Young Enterprise. The programme helps to support pupils as they make the big leap from P7 into Year 8.   Among a number of key life skills the students developed personal confidence and presentation skills.  The students also assessed their personal abilities, while analysing and solving problems. University Roadshow

Year 13 and 14 students were invited to attend the University Roadshow which aims to provide schools and colleges thought-out Northern Ireland with up to date information about the wide variety of third level opportunities available to them. Keelan McCabe & Oriel Liddy

Nuffield Research Placement and Gold CREST Award

Year 14 students Keelan McCabe and Oriel Liddy attended a celebration event in the Whitla Hall in Queen’s University Belfast in recognition of their completion of the Nuffield Research Placement and Gold CREST Award. Both students spent four weeks during the summer in Norbrook Laboratories Ltd undertaking projects, which they seen through to completion.  Keelan and Oriel then had to produce a report for submission to the British Science Association for Gold CREST approval and complete ...
