The school Library is found on the first floor of the school and managed by Mrs Margaret McNamee. It is open from 8.30am and provides centralized resources which support the curricular needs of pupils and staff.
It is a bright, attractive and comfortable room where pupils can read, study, research and use the laptops which are internet linked.
The Library stocks a wide range of fiction, non fiction and audio books which are designed to appeal to every age group and ability plus daily newspapers. These resources are used extensively to support classroom learning and there is a strong focus on promoting literacy across the curriculum. Various events are held throughout the year to encourage pupils to read and engage with the library resources. Pupils are regularly given opportunities to review books and their suggestions regarding favourite authors are used to influence library stock.
Year 8 & 9 pupils visit the library on a weekly timetable, Year 10 to 12 are timetabled weekly with their English teacher.
